Red Carpet Makeup Trends from this year’s Oscars

Margot Robbie

The Oscars is always THE night of high fashion and glamour because let’s be honest, the SAGs, Grammys and Golden Globes are all just trial runs for the night of nights! This year’s celebs didn’t disappoint with our favourite stars taking to the red carpet in lingerie inspired lace gowns, dresses in red jewel tones and pretty pastels all accentuated by flawless hair and make up.

There were so many gorgeous beauty looks – shout out to Margot Robbie who looked like a goddess with her understated beach waves and bronzed complexion! There were some looks that definitely stood out from the crowd - check out our top three makeup trends from the 2016 Oscars Red Carpet.

Colour pop lips: Usually at an event like the Oscars we see lips in elegant shades of red or burgundy, this year we saw a shift to more summery and fun shades. Olivia Munn was perfection with a tangerine lip to compliment her one-shouldered Stella McCartney gown.

Smokey eyes: Smokey eyes are a black tie event staple and suit most complexions. A dark eye shadow paired with a ‘barely there’ lip exudes a sultry glamour. Sophie Turner makes us want to dust off our brushes and refresh our blending skills with a YouTube tutorial or two.

Finish the look with our long lasting and easy to apply Luxe Liquid Liner.

Blushing beauties: Celebs on the red carpet weren’t opting for subtle rouge this year; they were making a statement with sculptural blush in a burst of colour. Reese Witherspoon wore a subtle eye and a strong blush that was intended to be noticed!
